A Lenovo Android smartphone has appeared online. The device codename matches with the one given to Lenovo Z5s. This essentially concludes the Chinese company is readying the device to run the latest Android 9 Pie operating system.

For quite some time, a Lenovo Android handset with the codename L78071 kept surfacing online. It was later confirmed that the device was the Lenovo Z5s. Now the smartphone has appeared on the popular online benchmarking repository Geekbench. It clearly indicates Lenovo is testing the latest Android 9 Pie OS on the Lenovo Z5s. Interestingly, the handset, which successfully eluded exposure for quite some time, managed to reveal itself a day before its official arrival.

Lenovo Z5s / L78071 Spotted On Geekbench A Day Before Official Launch

The Lenovo Z5s is an Android smartphone. As per the listing, Lenovo L78071 is running Android 9 Pie. However, Lenovo seldom opts for a pure and clean Android OS. The company almost always embeds a custom skin. Lenovo’s custom layer atop Android is called ZenUI. Still, it is truly commendable for the company to test the latest Android OS version which could come with the ZenUI overlay.

Till date, smartphone enthusiasts did not have much clue about the internal specifications of the Lenovo Z5s. However, the Geekbench listing reveals the same. The test device appears to be packing 5,679MB or 6GB RAM. Moreover, the device also seems to be running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor. The listing mentions the clock speed as 1.71GHz. But it is important to note that the Snapdragon 710 processor has performance cores that can go up to 2.2GHz. Hence the clock speed mentioned in the listing probably belongs to the efficiency cores. Incidentally, the SDM710 processor is fabricated on the 10nm production process. It is quite superior to the Snapdragon 6XX Series.

The Lenovo Z5s / L78071 managed a single-core score of 2227, and a multi-core score of 6770. Needless to mention, these are quite impressive scores. However, they are very much in line with the smartphones that feature the relatively new Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC and 6GB RAM.

The Lenovo Z5s To Arrive Tomorrow

According to the latest reports about the Lenovo Z5s, the capable mid-range Android smartphone with triple camera setup on the back, should launch in China tomorrow. Interestingly, alongside the standard variant, a Zhu Yi Long Special Edition of Lenovo Z5s will also be announced at the same time. The special edition of the smartphone may pack more RAM and internal storage. Quite recently, OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition was launched with 10GB RAM.

We expect Lenovo might embed a 6.3-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2240×1080 pixels. As confirmed by the Geekbench listing, the Lenovo Z5s should ship with the latest Android 9 Pie. However, it will certainly have Lenovo’s own ZenUI custom skin. A 3,210mAh capacity non-removable battery with Quick Charge support could run the Lenovo smartphone.
