The OPPO Reno isn’t exactly a very old series considering it was released in April this year. However, OPPO has no plans to stick to a yearly refresh cycle as the Reno 2 launch date has now been declared today. According to the teaser posted on Twitter, the launch is on August 28. The teaser also reveals some interesting things about the upcoming handset that we will be seeing in a couple of weeks from now.
The first interesting nugget is the mention of 20X Zoom. OPPO is doubling the zoom capacity of the Reno 2 compared to its predecessor but the exact type and quality of the zoom still remains unknown. The other key feature will likely be the quad-camera setup on the rear. What’s also intriguing is the absence of the square-shaped lens that is the sign of a periscope lens as seen on the triple camera of the Reno 10X Zoom. The third aspect is the pop-up camera. OPPO will still continue to use the shark-fin style pop-up camera mechanism on the Reno 2 20X Zoom that is the unique mark of the Reno series.
