Xiaomi will be launching the Mi 9 flagship smartphone at an event in Beijing tomorrow. Ahead of the launch in China, the Mi 9 Transparent Edition with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 SoC and a whopping 12GB RAM has been spotted on Geekbench.

Mi 9 Transparent Edition to Feature 12GB of RAM

The Geekbench listing reveals the Transparent Edition of the Mi 9 will be powered by a Snapdragon 855 7nm chipset, clubbed with an impressive 12GB of RAM. While we cannot be sure just yet, it is possible that the Transparent Edition will be the most expensive variant of the Mi 9. A recent leak out of China, however, claimed the most expensive Mi 9 variant will be the Explorer Edition. In terms of performance, the Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition scored an impressive 2,982 points in the single-core test and 10,382 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench. The listing also confirms the next Xiaomi flagship smartphone will debut with Android Pie-based MIUI 10 out of the box.

As confirmed by Xiaomi recently, the Mi 9 will sport an AMOLED display manufactured by Samsung with Full HD+ resolution and a sixth-generation optical In-display fingerprint sensor module. Thanks to a “customized micro selfie camera”, the smartphone will have an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 90.7%. In the camera department, Xiaomi Mi 9 will have an impressive triple-camera setup at the rear with a 48MP main sensor, 16MP ultra wide-angle snapper, and a 12MP telephoto lens. For enhanced durability, the Mi 9 will utilize a sapphire glass lens cover. Some variants of the Mi 9 are expected to include up to 20W wireless charging support as well. Other confirmed features of the Mi 9 include a dedicated button for the Google Assistant, NFC support, an infrared sensor, and support for 4×4 MIMO. Xiaomi is also rumored to launch the Mi 9 SE in addition to the standard Mi 9, Mi 9 Transparent Edition, and Mi 9 Explorer Edition. However, it remains to be seen if the Mi 9 SE will debut at the launch event in Beijing tomorrow or at a separate event a few weeks later.
