Design and Specifications
HTC 8X is the first phone from HTC running Windows 8. The phone features a 4.3" S-LCD2 capacitive touch screen with pixel density of ~342 ppi. The phone runs Windows phone 8 OS and is powered by a 1.5 GHz Dual core Krait processor with 1 GB RAM. The phone has fairly large dimensions of 132.4 x 66.2 x 10.1 mm and weighs 130 grams.
Camera and Multimedia
The phone has an 8 MP camera with 28 mm wide lens and features such as LED flash, auto-focus, touch focus and Geo tagging. There is also a 2.1 MP secondary camera for video calling. The phone supports audio files in MP3, WAV, eAAC+ and WMA formats. The phone is also great to watch videos in MP4, H.264, H.263 and WMV formats.
Connectivity and Features
HTC 8X runs on quad band 2G and 3G networks. The phone connects to the internet via GPRS, EDGE, 3G and Wifi networks. The phone supports Bluetooth 2.1, micro USB 2.0 and NFC to cater to connectivity needs of users. NFC can be used to engage in data sharing among other devices as well as in payments and transactions. The phone can also share data and content using Bluetooth 2.1 and micro USB 2.0.
Battery and Storage
The phone has a 1800 mAh battery that provides substantial talk time. The phone comes in variants with 16 GB and 32 GB internal memory for storing data such as music, movies, applications e.t.c The phone also has a micro SD card slot to expand the internal memory by up to 32 GB.
