Design and Specifications
HTC Butterfly is the international version of the highly anticipated and appreciated HTC Droid DNA. The phone holds the same specifications and design elements such as the 5.0" Super LCD 3 capacitive touch screen with a display resolution of 1080*1920. The display thus has a pixel density of 441 ppi. The phone runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and will be available for the 4.2 upgrade. It has a mind blowing 1.5 GHz Quad Core Krait processor from Qualcomm and an Adreno 320 GPU with 2 GB RAM.
Camera and Multimedia
The phone houses an 8 MP primary camera at the top center of its back with and adjacent LED flash. The camera has additional features such as auto focus, Simultaneous HD video recording and image recording, geo tagging and face/smile detection. There is also a 2.1 MP Secondary camera which is capable of taking full HD video. The phone provides great options in terms of multimedia consumption, such as listening to music in MP3, eAAC+, WMA and WAV formats and video in DivX, XviD, MP4, H.263, H.264 and WMV formats.
Connectivity and Features
HTC Butterfly runs on quad band 2G and quad band 3G as well as LTE networks and will be available across carriers in different countries. The phone can connect to the internet via EDGE,GPRS, 3G, LTE and WiFi networks. The phone provides multiple options for users to share data such as Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, micro USB 2.0 capability and NFC compatibility.
Battery and Storage
HTC Butterfly has a 2020 mAh battery which is quite capable of taking on 1 day's worth of operation. The phone provides 16 GB of storage space inbuilt for users to store their songs, movies and other data.
