HTC Desire 826. 5/5
HTC Desire 826 is the upcoming HTC smartphone. It boasts beefy hardware and specs which will force you to desire it. 1) Design and Display- It sports a vivid 5.5 inch super LCD3 display offering a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels resulting in 401 ppi pixel density. The viewing angles are just awesome and the text is ultra crisp and clear. It features a polycarbonate body at the back. It appears very sleek and smooth. Although, it has a big screen, it still feels comfortable in hand. With the "HTC" logo embossed at the back, it gives a premium look. The stereo speakers are positioned at the back and the monotonous dual speakers on the front are removed which is somewhat different. It weighs 183 grams and is quite bulky. However, it is still impressive and eye-catchy. I rate it 4.5/5. 2) Performance and RAM- It boasts 2 Snapdragon 615 quad core processors clocked at 1.7GHz and 1.0GHz clubbed with 2GB RAM for wonderful performance and multitasking. The Cortex A53 chip is outdated but the octa-core overcomes this problem. It has the Adreno 405 sitting inside for superior HD heavy gaming. The phone runs as smoothly with no stutters at all. Snapdragon 615 lies between 810 and 410. Overall, it functions pretty well and would not disappoint you at all. It is future-proof. Therefore, I rate it 4.7/5. 3) Software, Interface and Storage- It comes pre-installed with HTC Sense UI 6.0 and Android 5.0 Lollipop. It is upgradeable to higher versions. This is a very sweet combo. When killer specs combine with HTC UI and Android Lollipop, you get a beast called HTC Desire 826. Android 5.0 redefines the user experience by adding animations, optimizing apps, a better notification centre, less bugs and much more. The HTC UI 6.0 offers great customization. With 16GB on-board storage(further upgradeable to 128GB via microSD card), you can install more than 75 apps, 5000 songs, 50 videos, 25 games, 1000 photos and what not. If you also spend a bit more on memory cards, then you get a lot more. Overall, I rate it 5/5 because of it's amazing user experience and expandable memory. 4) Camera and Battery Life- It features a 13MP primary and a 4MP secondary camera for selfie lovers and photographers. It captures brilliant photos even in the low light, thanks to the LED flash. The pics are crystal clear. Also, with various camera features like panorama, photo sphere and other apps, it provides much more than just a camera. It has a non-removable Li-Po 2600 mAh battery which will last for a day after heavy gaming, browsing, video playback, music, etc. So, for lazy people who hate charging their phones intermittently, it is a great alternative. Hence, I rate it 4.9/5. 5) Verdict- HTC Desire 826 is the latest phone. It features a flawless camera, gigantic battery backup, expandable storage, beefy specs and a very crisp display. Though, it is a great bargain, it still has a few cons. First, the 5.5 inch display is too big. Second, there are other competitive phones in this range, for example, the Moto X 2nd Gen, Nexus 5, OnePlus One, etc. However, if you are a die hard HTC fan and the love the HTC UI, I surely recommend it. But, otherwise, it is a tough decision. Hence, considering the brand value, specs, competition in the market, I rate it 4.4/5.
