The Lava Xolo Q800 is the newest entrant into the field of budget Android handsets, launched by Lava to counter the growing influence of Micromax in the budget segment of the Indian market. The Lava Xolo Q800 features a 4.5-inch IPS LCD touch-screen with a resolution of 960 X 540. The pixel density is 244 ppi, which should be ideal for watching mobile content, not to mention images and videos on the go. The phone runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and houses a 1.2 GHz quad core MediaTek MT 6589 processor, which is same as the one that is available in the Micromax A116 Canvas HD. 1 GB RAM is more than sufficient to handle multi-tasking efficiently.

Other features in the multimedia category include the ability to shake the device to change a song. The handset also includes native codecs for major audio and video file formats like MP3, MP4, WMV and WMA.
