The Nokia 701 features a candy bar design with a 3.5-inch of Clear black IPS display paired with Gorilla Glass protection that saves device’s display from external damages. Powering the phone is a 1.3 GHz ARM11 processor and 512MB of RAM powering the device, the 701 runs on Nokia’s Symbian Belle OS. There is 8GB of internal storage present on the device and can be further expanded up to 32GB of storage with the help of microSD card. The 701 measures 117.2 x 56.8 x 11 mm and weighs around 131 grams.
It comes with quad band support for networks such as 2G and 3G with maximum speed of 14.4 Mbps HSDPA. It offers other connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, microUSB 2.0, and it also has support for USB on the go that enables FM Transmitter and FM Radio. Interestingly, the phone also supports Near Field Communication (NFC) that helps in easy data transfer and TV-Out that enables users to connect the device to their regular television set and view photos and videos saved inside the mobile phone. Pre-loaded apps on the device are Adobe Reader and Document Viewer that helps users to view and edit documents with the comfort of their smartphone.
The device sports an 8-megapixel of rear camera with Dual LED flash and fixed focus technology, which offers better images even in dim light conditions. The rear camera is capable of recording HD ready videos at 720p resolution, which provides 30 frames per second. The device also has a VGA front-facing camera that enables video-calling and selfie shots. It also supports audio formats such as WMA, MP3, WAV and video formats like H.263, H.264, and MP4.
Nokia 701 is backed by a 1300 mAh of a Li-ion battery, which is touted by Nokia to deliver up to 17 hours of talk-time and 504 hours on standby.
