Design and Specifications
Nokia Lumia 620 is the most affordable Windows 8 based phone to be released by Nokia in 2013. The phone provides all the Windows 8 goodness in a super fast 1 GHz Dual core Krait processor with 512 MB RAM. The phone has a 3.8" WVGA display with a display resolution of approximately 400*800 pixels and a pixel density of 246 ppi providing sharper image quality. Mixed with the Nokia Clear Black display technology, the phone provides great quality images even in bright sun light. The phone is itself quite handy to hold with dimensions of 115.4 x 61.1 x 11 mm and weighs just 127 grams. The phone has the same peppy appearance as the Nokia Lumia 610 with multiple and vibrant color casing options.
Camera and Multimedia
Nokia Phones have always been famous for providing great cameras and the Nokia Lumia 620 is no exception. The phone provides a 5 MP primary camera which is capable of recording 720p videos at 30 fps. The camera has multiple features such as geo tagging, auto focus, face detection and an LED flash to help with photography. In the front the phone houses a VGA camera for making skype calls and general video chatting. The phone comes inbuilt with the ability to download songs from Nokia music store as well as an inbuilt Microsoft Zune Player. The phone is a great companion for music listeners with compatibility for MP3, WAV, eAAC+ and WMA formats. For viewing videos the phone is optimized to play videos in MP4, H.264, H.263 and WMV formats. Being a Windows 8 phone, the phone also offers synchronization with XBox games and offers other great gaming content.
Connectivity and Features
Nokia Lumia 620 is made for the global audience and hence supports quad band 2G and 3G networks. The phone takes a micro SIM and sadly doesn't offer LTE connectivity which is still not a big let down. The phone can be used to connect to the internet via GPRS, EDGE, 3G and Wifi networks. It can even act as a Wifi Hotspot. Uncharacteristic to phones of its price range, the phone even supports NFC. In addition with Bluetooth 3.0 and micro USB 2.0 compatibility, the phone offers every percievable option for data connection.
Battery and Storage
The phone is definitely going to be hard to put down, which is why Nokia has offered it oodles of battery back up with a 1300 mAh battery that claims to provide up to 14 hours of talk time in 2G and 10 hours in 3G networks. The phone has 8 GB of internal memory as well as 7 GB of SkyDrive Storage space to exploit for storing all your content. In addition to this users can expand their internal memory externally via micro SD card to a maximum limit of up to 64 GB.
