Alcatel quietly launched its new mid-range 4G LTE enabled smartphone, the Alcatel X1 in India today for Rs. 15,999. The phone will be available for purchase from third-party sellers.

The Alcatel X1 features a 5.0-inch HD AMOLED display with Dragontrail Glass protection on the front and Gorilla Glass protection on the back. The phone runs a 1GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor with an Adreno 405 GPU, Android v5.1.1 Lollipop OS, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage expandable to 128GB via microSD card, and a 2,150mAh battery.

The X1 also features a 13-megapixel primary camera with auto-focus, dual-tone LED flash, a 5P lens and F2.2 aperture. There is a 5-megapixel secondary camera with an F2.0 aperture on the front. The X1 is a dual-SIM phone (micro-SIM and nano-SIM) with support for 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0 and GPS. The phone comes in an anodized aluminium frame with the Alcatel Eye-D for iris-based security feature.

The X1 will compete with the likes of Motorola Moto G4 Plus, Lenovo Z1, and freshly launched YU Yunicorn.
