After showcasing the Vibe K5 for the first time at the Mobile World Congress this year, Lenovo has gone ahead and launched the phone in India today (June 13). The budget phone, which is technically the replacement to the A6000, is priced at Rs. 6,999 and is available exclusively via Amazon India – the registrations for a flash sale on June 22, will start at 1 p.m. today.
The Lenovo Vibe K5 has a 5-inch HD (720p) display and once again the company is touting the phones multimedia features. There are two stereo speakers which are Dolby Atmos certified. Furthermore, Lenovo equips the phone with its TheatreMax technology, which is a unique large screen experience simulated by virtual reality. Lenovo promotes the AntVR headset for experiencing TheatreMax.
The phone comes with a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 processor and 2GB of DDR3 RAM. The phone also includes a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with Dual-SIM option and support for 4G LTE networks. The phone weighs around 142g and is 8mm thick. It is available in Silver and Gold colour variants, and it has a full-metal body, which is great for its price.
The Lenovo Vibe K5 goes up against the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime and Coolpad Note 3.
