Adding yet another device to its popular entry-level m series of phones, Meizu has launched the m3s in China. The device was announced just earlier this year along with the Meizu m3 and the Meizu m3 Note. The metal-body m3s is going to be up for sale from June 17 and one can currently register for the phone from the company’s website. The m3s is available for sale only in China at the moment.
The m3s runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Flyme OS 5.1 on top of it. It has a 5-inch HD display with 2.5D curved glass protection on top of it. Under the hood, it has a MediaTek octa-core processor and Mali T860 GPU. Four Cortex-A53 cores are clocked at 1.5GHz and the other four Cortex-A53 are clocked at 1GHz. The phone supports a hybrid Dual-SIM card slot. The phone has a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash with F2.2 aperture. At the front is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with F2.0 aperture. It has a 3020mAh battery. The home button doubles up as a fingerprint scanner.
It comes in two variants – one with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage, and the other with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It also has a microSD card slot to expand storage space up to 128GB.
In terms of connectivity options, the phone supports 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/GLONASS and a Micro-USB 2.0 port.
And finally, in terms of pricing, the m3s comes at CNY 699 (around Rs.7,100) for the 2GB variant, and CNY 899 (around Rs.9,200) for the 3GB variant. It measures 141.9×69.9×8.3mm, and weighs 138g. The device is available is gold, silver, grey and pink colour options.
