Panasonic unveils P75 smartphone with 5000mAh battery


Panasonic has unveiled the new P75 smartphone in India. Powered by a whopping 5000mAH battery, the P75 is available in two colours, champagne gold and sand black, for an affordable price of Rs. 5990. Panasonic has thrown in a protective screen guard (priced at Rs.399) as a free accessory with the phone too.

The P75 packs 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, expandable up to 32G using a microSD card. The phone is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera, with a dual LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. It has a 5-inch HD display.  The phone is 9.6mm thick and weighs 157 grams.

The P75 runs Panasonic’s SAIL UI, based on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor. The smartphone has a dual SIM 3G/2G configuration for connectivity, in addition to Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS/A-GPS. It also allows for Micro-USB 2.0 connectivity. The phone is also equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Pankaj Rana, Business Head- Mobility Division, Panasonic India commented about the turn-by-turn navigation assistance users could take advantage of using the Google GPS navigation app, saying, “With the increased usage of smartphones nowadays, we offer our consumers a long lasting 5000mAH battery smart phone capable of turn-by-turn navigation as well, thereby assisting our consumers on the go.”

For a price of Rs. 5990, we cannot think of other smartphones equipped with a similarly powerful battery. The Asus ZenFone Max has a 5000mAh battery, although it is priced higher.
