Purported details of HTC ‘Marlin’ Nexus devices leaked

HTC is rumoured of working closely with Google for the next generation Nexus devices expected to release in coming few months. The rumour mills have speculated that HTC is working on a Nexus 5X successor dubbed Sailfish (S1) and a Nexus 6P successor dubbed Marlin (M1). AndroidPolice got tipped with some key specifications of the Marlin phone.

As per the tipster, Marlin will feature a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with Quad HD (1440×2560 pixels) resolution. Housing a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon (821/823) chipset, Marlin packs 4GB of RAM. The interesting bit is the omission of 64GB storage model, which seems unlikely, for the tipster mentioned only two storage variants – 32GB and 128GB. If that stands true, then even the Sailfish Nexus device will be offered in 32GB and 128GB storage options only.

A rear mounted fingerprint sensor, just like Nexus 6P, will also have a 12-megapixel camera above it. In the front will be an 8-megapixel camera for selfies. Bottom firing speakers follow the norm among flagship and premium grade devices.

Packing 3,450mAh battery, we can only expect the Marlin to be as huge or may be less than the Nexus 6P. These specifications are not confirmed so we recommend that you take them with a pinch of salt.
