As you might already know, Motorola introduced the Moto G (4th Gen.) and Moto G Plus (4th Gen.) in India to form the Moto G lineup. While the Moto G series steps into the fourth generation, the company plans to add yet another spin-off device dubbed Moto G Play (4th Gen.) to this lineup.
Apparently, Motorola has imported a couple of Moto XT1607 units in India for testing as spotted in a listing at Zauba, the Indian imports-exports tracking website. Apparently, the Moto G Play (4th Gen.) has the model number XT1607. That said, the testing of the phone has just begun before the formal launch.
Motorola remained tight-lipped about the Moto G Play (4th Gen.) so far but certainly plans to introduce it soon. The Zauba listing also hints at a 5-inch display on the G Play (4th Gen.). If the rumours are true, then this phone will come in two versions – 1GB of RAM with 8GB of internal storage or 2GB of RAM with 16GB of internal storage. The memory slot is capable of hosting up to 256GB microSD card.
The phone will house a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 mobile chipset to power the 5-inch HD display. When it comes to imaging department, the phone sports a modest 8-megapixel camera at the rear and 5-megapixel camera in the front. Powering this hardware is a 2,800mAh battery. These specifications are not confirmed so take them with a pinch of salt.
