Xiaomi ‘Capricorn’ visits Geekbench, might be the Mi Note 2


Xiaomi is launching a high-end flagship smartphone this month, probably the Mi Note 2 according to a report. The Chinese smartphone company might also launch the Xiaomi Mi 5S along with the Mi Note 2. However, not much is known regarding the device other than its dual-camera setup.

Now, a mysterious device, the Xiaomi Capricorn, has been spotted on Geekbench, which could be the upcoming Mi Note 2. According to the listing, we can see that the device is booting Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is equipped with a quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor.

Two variants of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 are expected to be unveiled, one with a 5.7-inch 1080p display and the other with a 5.7-inch QHD display with ‘3D Touch’. It is rumoured to come with a dual 12-megapixel camera setup that can record 4K videos. Other specifications could include a fingerprint sensor, a reversible USB Type-C port, and a large 4,000 mAh battery with fast charging support.

The Mi Note 2 is believed to be the most expensive device from Xiaomi till date. The prototype of the upcoming smartphone was leaked earlier, which suggested a dual-camera setup. The variant with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage is expected to be available for $375, while the one with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage is expected to go on sale for $450.

The Mi Note 2 will also be available with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, which could cost as high as $525. Xiaomi might announced the Mi Note 2 on the 25th of July or sometime in the first week of August 2016.
