LG India has been sending out invites for the launch of the X Screen smartphone, scheduled for Monday. The X Screen, as you may recall, is a mid-range smartphone under the company’s latest X series, first unveiled in February, ahead of MWC 2016 this year.

The most notable feature of the LG X Screen is its ‘Always on’ screen, similar to what can be seen in the LG G5 or the LG V10. The device sports a 4.93-inch in-cell screen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The secondary display, which has the ‘Always on’ feature, is a 1.76-inch KCD display with a resolution of 520×80. It sits right above the main display. This screen will show notifications for apps, missed calls, messages, and calendar events while showing the battery status, date, and time, without interrupting current activity. Users can check all of this information without having to turn the device on.

The X Screen houses a 1.2GHz quad core processor with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset and runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, expandable up to 2TB with the use of an external microSD card. The phone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. Aside from 4G connectivity, the X Screen offers Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB 2.0, and GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS. The phone is powered by a 2300mAh battery, which LG claims should give you up to 780 minutes of talk time (3G).

It is currently unclear if LG will make both the single and dual SIM variants of the phone available in India. The phone will be available in black, pink gold, and white colours.
