Expanding its range of LYF series smartphones in India, Reliance Digital has announced the launch of a new handset in the country with the LYF Water 8. This launch comes just a few weeks after the company launched the LYF Earth 2, the LYF Water 4 and the LYF Water 6. Priced just above the Rs.10,000 mark, the LYF Water 8, like its other siblings gets 4G LTE support. Let us quickly check out the other features of the device.

The LYF Water 8 gets a 5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280*720 pixels. The phone uses the tried and tested Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC which houses a quad core processor running at 1.7 GHz. There is also 3GB of RAM which is great for a phone in its price range. The phone gets 16GB of internal storage space which can be expanded further thanks to a microSD card slot. For imaging, the handset uses a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Both the camera get an LED flash for low light imaging. Video recording can be done at Full HD @30 FPS. The phone gets a 2,600 mAh battery that claims a 10-hour battery life.

On the software front, the LYF Water 8 runs Android 5.1.1 out-of-the-box. Connectivity options include 3G, 4G,Wi-Fi: 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS and USB 2.0 with support for USB OTG.
