Just days after Meizu revealed their new flagship handset, the high end Meizu MX6 and the lower priced, budget oriented Meizu M3E, we now have details about a probable new handset coming from their stables.
A brand new Meizu branded device has been listed on benchmarking website AnTuTu. The model number in the listing tells us that the handset is the Meizu M96. This, however, might be just the internal codename for the new device. Looking at the probable spec sheet of this new device, we suspect it to be the rumoured Meizu Pro 7.
As for the specs, as you can see in the image above, the handset would be powered by the Samsung Exynos 8890 processor which incidentally, is the same chip that would be used on some versions of the just-launched Samsung Galaxy Note7. This new Meizu handset would also get the Mali-T880 GPU for graphics. As for the camera set up, this handset is rumoured to get a 12-megapixel main camera at the rear and a 5-megapixel front camera for video calling and selfies. The phone would run Meizu’s own Flyme OS atop an Android 6.0 marshmallow core.
Other hardware specifications include 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It is also plausible that the company may consider a higher priced, 6GB of RAM variant considering the fact that fellow Chinese brand OnePlus already sells the OnePlus 3 with 6GB of RAM.
