Intex has launched a new smartphone in the entry-level segment called the Cloud Tread. The device will be available exclusively via Snapdeal starting August 30 in its first flash sale that kicks off at 12pm IST. The device is priced at ₹4,999.
The Cloud Tread has a 5-inch HD (720x1280p) display with a layer of Dragontrail Glass. It is powered by 1.5GHz hexa-core MediaTek MT6591 processor and Mali 450 GPU along with 2GB of RAM. The device has 16GB of internal storage space that is expandable up to 32GB using a microSD card. The smartphone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. This smartphone accommodates Dual SIM.
In terms of camera specifications, the device sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. There is 3G, Wi-Fi, FM radio, Micro-USB and a 3.5mm audio jack in terms of the connectivity options. The device is powered by a 2200mAh battery. The device is available in two colours: Champagne and Grey.
The launch of the Cloud Tread comes on the heels of the launch of Samsung’s Tizen-powered Z2 smartphone which features similar specs and falls in the same category. While Intex’s Cloud Tread seems like a better smartphone, the Z2 scores an extra point because of 4G connectivity.
