Android 7.0 Nougat coming to Motorola smartphones in Q4

Motorola has always been quick when it comes to bringing new versions of Android to its devices, and the company looks set to continue the same with Android 7.0 Nougat. The Lenovo-owned company has released an official list of devices set to receive the Nougat update, with the first batch of updates to start rolling out in Q4 2016 to the Moto Z and Moto G4 lineup of devices.

List of Motorola smartphones that will be getting Android 7.0 Nougat update:

  • Moto G (4th Gen)
  • Moto G Plus (4th Gen)
  • Moto G Play (4th Gen)
  • Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen)
  • Moto X Style
  • Moto X Play
  • Moto X Force
  • Droid Turbo 2
  • Droid Maxx 2
  • Moto Z
  • Moto Z Droid
  • Moto Z Force Droid
  • Moto Z Play
  • Moto Z Play Droid
  • Nexus 6

The Android 7.0 update includes an updated Doze mode for increased battery life, custom quick settings and direct reply from notifications, split-screen multitasking, and more. Note that last year’s Moto G3 and the newly announced Moto E3 Power will not get the latest Android update, at least not according to the list published by Motorola.
