Google Pixel and Pixel XL to go on sale in India on October 26

Google introduced Pixel and Pixel XL earlier this month, which are the company’s first non-Nexus smartphones. The company also announced that it has no plans to make any new Nexus smartphones going forward. During the launch, Google had mentioned that it will sell its new smartphones through Flipkart, Tata Croma, Reliance Digital, and some other retail chains such as Jumbo and Vijay Sales. The Google Pixel and the Google Pixel XL went on pre-order starting October 13 with starting prices of ₹57,000 and ₹67,000, respectively.

If you were wondering as to when these retailers will start shipping the Pixel and Pixel XL to customers, that will happen starting October 26. The 32GB variant of the Pixel costs ₹57,000, while the 128GB variant costs ₹66,000. The 32GB variant of the Pixel XL is priced at ₹67,000 and the 128GB variant is priced at ₹76,000. They will be available in Quite Black and Very Silver colours in the country. Both these Android 7.1 Nougat running smartphones have been manufactured by HTC, and the company will take care of the after sales service of these devices in India.

The Google Pixel features a 5.0-inch AMOLED display covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 panel, and with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The Google Pixel XL comes with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with QHD (2560×1440 pixels) resolution. Both smartphones feature a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB RAM, and 32GB/128GB of internal storage. The Pixel and Pixel XL have 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi ac/b/g/n, Google Cast, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS, USB 3.0 Type-C port, and 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Pixel and the Pixel XL are equipped with 12-megapixel rear-facing cameras using Sony’s new 1/2.3-inch IMX378 camera sensor (with 1.55µm pixel size), phase-detection autofocus, and laser autofocus. These phones can record 4K videos at 30 frames per second and 1080p videos at 120 frames per second. The front-facing 8-megapixel cameras on these smartphones, which have an aperture of f/2.4 and a pixel size of 1.4µm, can record 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. The Pixel comes with a 2770mAh battery, while the Pixel XL comes with a 3450mAh battery.
