Xiaomi Mi Note 2 to feature dual cameras, iris scanner, and pricing starts from ₹27,999

As we all know the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is one of the most awaited smartphone from the Chinese smartphone brand and many are excited to see what’s on the offer from Xiaomi. The company has already scheduled an event on the 25th October for the launch of the Mi Note 2 in China. Most Xiaomi Mi Note 2 specs leaks talk about a dual edge curved AMOLED display and a Snapdragon 821 chipset. Now, some slides have been leaked about the Mi Note 2, revealing all the details about the device in their full glory.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Specs

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will feature a 5.7 inch 2K AMOLED display, which will be manufactured by LG. The display is also expected to feature Apple’s 3D Touch-like technology. It’s now quite safe to say that the Mi Note 2 will come equipped with the latest SoC from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 821, along with at least 4GB and 64GB of storage. There will also be a variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. In terms of design, the upcoming Mi Note 2 looks quite similar to the Galaxy Note 7 and the Galaxy S7 edge.

In the imaging department, Xiaomi will use a dual-camera setup in the Mi Note 2, similar to that of the Mi 5s Plus and the Redmi Pro. However, this will be a superior setup in comparison. The Mi Note 2 will use a 23-megapixel Sony IMX318 sensor and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX378 sensor on the rear. The front-facing snapper will have a resolution of 8 megapixels. The Under-The-Glass, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor from the Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus will be utilised in the Mi Note 2 as well. Leaked presentation slides also talk about features like Xiaomi Pay, NFC, USB Type-C port, and an iris scanner. The Mi Note 2 will pack a  4,100 mAh capacity battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0 technology.

Pricing of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has been leaked as well. The Mi Note 2 with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage is expected to carry a price tag of CNY 2,799 (₹27,999) in China, while the higher-end model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage might be priced at CNY 2,999 (₹29,999). The Mi Note 2 is expected to go on sale in China starting from the 30th of October, 2016 through the e-commerce website dixington.com as well as the company’s own online shop.
