Vivo Xplay6 with 5.46-inch QHD curved display, 6GB of RAM and dual rear cameras announced

Alongside the mid-range X9 and the X9 Plus smartphones that were launched yesterday, Vivo announced another flagship in its Xplay series of smartphones in China – the Xplay6.

The Xplay6 comes in a metal unibody design with a huge 5.46-inch Quad HD curved display. Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor and an Adreno 530 GPU. There is 6GB of DDR4 RAM along with 128GB of internal storage.  It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with a layer of Funtouch OS 3.0 on top of it.

In the imaging department, the company boasts of dual rear cameras – one 12-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX362 sensor, 1.4um pixel size, F1.7 aperture, 4-axis OIS, PDAF for fast focus in just 0.03 seconds, and  another 5-megapixel secondary camera which captures depth information. The phone has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with F2.0 aperture.


In terms of connectivity, this Dual SIM device offers the usual list of features such as 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS. It comes with a massive 4080mAh battery with fast charging capabilities so you can expect the phone to last long. It also has a fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm audio jack, and an ES9038 DAC+ OPA1622 amplifier. The device measures 153.8×73.55×8.4mm and weighs 178g.

The Vivo Xplay6 is available in gold and rose gold colour options, and comes at a price of 4498 yuan (approximately ₹44,450). It will be available for purchase in China starting December 12, but as for its availability in the rest of the world, there is no word as yet.
