Amazon Prime Video is coming to India in December

Amazon launched its Prime service in India in July 2016, and ever since its launch, people have been eagerly waiting for the introduction of the Amazon Prime Video. Though Amazon has not revealed an exact date for the launch, the company has finally given a timeframe. It is expected to launch in December in India.

The Grand Tour team, in a tweet, announced that Amazon Prime Video isn’t just rolling out in India, but will also be available in over 200 countries. Amazon through its website shows that the service in India will include ‘Bollywood movies, Hollywood movies, US shows, global Award-winning Amazon Original Series and kids’ programming‘. The original shows will include Transparent, Mozart in the Jungle, The Man in the High Castle and the kids’ show Tumble Leaf, among others. Apart from this, the service will also have exclusive original shows for India. The service is to be available on Android, iOS phone, tablet, desktop, smart TV and game console.

With an introductory price of ₹499 for a year, Amazon introduced the Prime service in India which gave users options such as same day or next day delivery on orders, no delivery charges and a 30-minute early access to lightning deals. However, Amazon has not stated whether the Prime Video would be included in the package or if any additional charges would apply. The company has already struck a deal with Dharma Productions and T-series and is racing for the rights to air IPL matches next year. One has to wait until December to find out exactly what Amazon has on offer for its users in India.
