As per new leaks coming in, Xiaomi’s upcoming device, the Xiaomi Mi 5c, which has been in the news for quite some time now, could launch on December 6. And, it will be priced around CNY 1,000 (approx. ₹10,000). This rumour originated from the Chinese social networking site, Weibo.
Earlier rumours had suggested that this Xiaomi offering would launch on December 12 and at a slightly higher price of CNY 1,499 (approx. ₹15,000). However, until Xiaomi decides to officially disclose details regarding the device, we can’t confirm any of these to be true.
That apart, new images of the phone from all angles have been spotted by Android Pure. From the pictures, we can tell that the device has rounded edges, and the volume and power buttons are placed on the right edge. At the bottom is the speaker and USB Type-C port. The camera module with an LED flash is placed at the back.
In terms of its specifications, the device is rumoured to come with a 5.5-inch Full HD display (1920x1080p) with a pixel density of 403 PPI. A Geekbench leak revelead that under the hood, the Mi 5c is likely to be powered by an octa-core processor that is clocked at 1.4GHz, with 3GB of RAM and an ARM Mali-T860 GPU. It might run Xiaomi’s Pine Cone processor. Out-of-the-box, it will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow that is based on MIUI 8. Furthermore, the device is said to come in two variants: a 5.2-inch and another 5.5-inch. Moreover, the device might come in Rose Gold, Gold and Black colour variants.
