After announcing it during CES 2016 in August, Garmin Virb Ultra 30 action camera has been launched in India. Priced at ?43,990, the action camera that is capable of recording 4K videos, competes with the GoPro Hero 5. It will be available online exclusively through Amazon.in, and through major offline (conventional brick-and-mortar) stores across India.

The Garmin Virb Ultra 30 features a 12-megapixel sensor that can shoot full-resolution images, 4K videos at 30fps, 1080p videos at 60fps, and slow-motion 720p videos at 240fps. As opposed to most other action cameras, the Virb Ultra 30 comes with an inbuilt 3-axis optical image stabilisation system for smoother videos. It is also equipped with a 1.75-inch full-colour touchscreen display and a voice recognition system.

It has a microSD card slot that can intake up to 128GB cards. It also features high-sensitivity microphones for clearer audio. In terms of connectivity, the Garmin Virb Ultra 30 features ANT+, Bluetooth, GPS, and Wi-Fi. It also has accelerometer, altimeter, compass, and gyroscope for G-Metrix: a feature that records activity-related data such as angle, height, and speed while capturing videos or images. Users also get an option to overlay G-Metrix data on top of videos and images.
