Xiaomi’s teaser about something big at the CES 2017 had everyone excited about its 2017 flagship. However, Xiaomi launched new Mi TV 4 and Mi Router. Unlike our estimate, Xiaomi is expected to take the covers of its next flagship – Xiaomi Mi 6 – in February. Purported images of the Mi 6 suggest that the phone will arrive in two versions, similar to what Samsung did with Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
The Mi 6 will have a rear glass panel and a metal frame to continue the Mi 5’s premium design language. Both versions are expected to hit the production floors this month. As you can see from the leaked images, the purported Mi 6 does have curved sides and rounded corners.
Under the hood, the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset is set to power the Mi 6. However, previous reports hint that Xiaomi will bring the Mi 6 in two different variants – one with MediaTek Helios chip and other with Pine Cone chipset.
The company will reportedly launch 128GB and 256GB storage versions of the Mi 6 as well. However, we will have to wait for this one out because Xiaomi is yet to prove that on Indian turf.
Xiaomi will pack a 4,000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 technology support for fast charging it. The Xiaomi Mi 6 with 4GB of RAM may arrive with a 1,999 yuan (roughly $288 or ₹19,650) price tag. The curved Mi 6 with 6GB of RAM is expected to cost 2,499 yuan (around $360 or ₹24,570). Thought the Mi 6 will launch in early phone, the sales will commence only in March this year.
