You can always trust WhatsApp, the world’s most popular instant messaging app, to be working on new features that will enhance the user experience. This time around, the company is said to be working on a feature that will allow users to share live location in a group chat. This was reported by WABetaInfo, a forum that is known to report on leaks regarding WhatsApp.
It has been reported that the feature is being tested right now for Android and iOS. It will be available on the 22.214.171.124 version for iOS and the 2.16.399 version for Android. When released, the feature will be disabled by default and you will need to activate it manually to be able to use it.
To activate this feature right now, you need to first make sure that you have the same version of WhatsApp beta installed on your phone. This feature can then be accessed from the Settings option on the top right corner for group chats. Right above where the participants in the group are listed, the option for sharing the location will be visible. The feature also gives you the option to choose for how long you want WhatsApp to share your location to your friends: from one minute, two minutes, fives minutes to indefinitely.
