Meizu schedules an event on February 15; M5S expected to be announced


Chinese manufacturer Meizu has scheduled an event on February 15 where the company is expected to announce the Meizu M5S. The smartphone was spotted on the web just a few days ago, giving us a glimpse of the actual device. The M5S also received 3C and TENAA certification a few months back where we got to know about many of its specifications.


The Meizu M5S might come with a metal body, since we last saw a metal frame on the company’s previous smartphone. It might also have fast charging support according to the teaser revealed. The device will have a 5.2-inch Full HD display and will run on a 1.3 GHz octa-core MT6753 processor. There will be three different RAM variant according to TENAA listing: one with 2GB of RAM with 16GB storage, 3GB of RAM with 32GB storage and a high-end variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. The smartphone will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Flyme OS 6 on top.

In the imaging department, the Meizu M5S will feature a 13-megapixel rear facing camera with dual tone LED flash, while the front-facing camera will be of 5-megapixels. Connectivity wise, the smartphone will have 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and a 3.5mm audio jack. It will pack a 2930mAh battery with fast charging support.

The Meizu M5S is rumoured to be available in four colours options that include, Gold, Grey, Rose Gold, and Silver. The launch event will take place at the Beijing Performing Arts Center on February 15.
