Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu might launch one more affordable smartphone in India, the Meizu M5, if a new report is to be believed. The smartphone was launched in China last year. The Meizu M5s is an entry-level smartphone featuring a 5.2-inch display, a plastic body, a MediaTek octa-core processor, and five colour options.
Meizu M5: Specifications
The Meizu M5 features a polycarbonate body, and is equipped with a run-of-the-mill 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor. It will be available in two RAM variants: lower-priced variant with 2GB of RAM with 16GB storage and higher-priced variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The smartphone still runs on dated Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with the company’s Flyme 6 on top of it.
The Meizu M5 features a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and a single-LED flash, while the front facing camera has a resolution of 5 megapixels. Connectivity wise, the smartphone is equipped with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 3.5mm audio jack. It packs a 3,070mAh battery. It is available in Blue, Champagne Gold, Matte Black, Mint Green, and White colour options in China, but we’re unsure as to which colour options would make it to the Indian market.
Meizu M5s: Pricing & Availability
The Meizu M5 is priced at ₹6,891 for the 2GB RAM variant, while the 3GB RAM variant comes at ₹8863. The phone has already been launched in some other countries, including Russia and Italy, while the India-specific launch is expected in the coming weeks. At the moment, the company has not confirmed any event prior to the launch of the Meizu M5s.
