Canon EOS M6 launched, priced at Rs.56,995 with 15-45mm lens

Canon has officially announced the EOS M6, adding a new camera to its mirrorless interchangeable lens camera lineup. The new Canon EOS M6 is expected to go on sale in April this year in black and silver colours. The EOS M6 will be on sale in India for ?56,995 with the EF-M 15-45mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM lens. The optional electronic viewfinder (EVF-DC2) is priced at $250 (approximately ?16,729). The EOS M6 sits between the EOS M3 and the EOS M5 in terms of specifications and pricing. To remind you, the EOS M5 is priced at ?81,995 with the 15-45mm kit lens.

Not a lot has changed, however. The EOS M6 loses the built-in EVF seen on the M5 but shares most of the EOS M5’s internal components including its 24-megapixel APS-C sensor with Dual Pixel CMOS AF, and the DIGIC 7 image processor. There are a few minor changes in design, like an additional control dial on the top plate which provides separate control for mode and exposure compensation. The new EOS M6 also features a 3-inch touchscreen that tilts 180 degrees up and 45 degrees down, which should help out with those all-important selfies.

Other features of interest are built-in five-axis image stabilisation, built-in Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth technology for easy sharing of photos and remote operability. When shooting with a compatible lens featuring image stabilisation, the EOS M6 will use both the optical image stabilisation in the lens as well as in-camera digital image stabilisation through a combination IS system to deliver smooth video and the effects of camera shake on video content as well as photos. The EOS M6 isn’t 4K capable but will let you record 1080/60p video.
