Meizu is sending out invites for a press conference on February 28 at MWC 2017

Meizu is sending out invites for a special launch event on February 28 at Mobile World Congress 2017. The press conference is scheduled a day after MWC 2017 officially kicks off. The invite doesn’t mention anything specific or tease about any smartphone.

Meizu has also put up the invite on its China website and the official forum boards. The invite comes with the caption, ‘Faster Than Ever’ and a lightning bolt symbol. This leaves it open to multiple interpretations.

The Meizu Forum post also talks about the company introducing an integrated antenna design with the PRO 6 last year. Also, the mBack feature at the rear of the phone to support gesture.

We also have guessed one. Meizu plans to unveil the next generation fast charging technology. The current fast charging feature dubbed mCharge is not even close to impressive. The Meizu M5s launched last week packs a 3000mAh battery and can be charged up to 20 percent in a matter of 10 minutes. Clearly that’s not enough to compete with the Quick Charge 3.0 and VOOC supporting devices.

As of now, we don’t know if Meizu also has another smartphone under coat to unveil at the MWC 2017. The press conference will start at 10AM in Barcelona, Spain.
