Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus with Snapdragon 835 spotted on Geekbench

The launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus and the Galaxy S8 is less than a month away and the rumour mill is already churning out one report after another about its speculated specifications and features. While we had heard reports about the smartphone being launched with an Exynos 8895 chipset earlier, newer reports now suggest that few units of the smartphone could also come with a Snapdragon 835 processor inside.

A smartphone with the model number ‘SM-G955U’ was spotted online at the Geekbench browser just today. In the listing, it mentions the device with a 1.9GHz Qualcomm processor. The handset with the model number SM-G955U most likely indicates the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. While we had already heard that the company had acquired the first batch of this SoC, this listing further strengthens the same rumour.

Both the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus are expected to launch on March 29. The S8 is expected to come with a 5.8-inch display, and the S8 Plus with a larger 6.2-inch display. Both smartphones will have a 12-megapixel dual rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. While the S8 is rumoured to pack a 3000mAh battery, the S8 Plus is expected to come with a 3500mAh battery.
