
Sound United LLC owns a bunch of premium audio brands, including Polk Audio, Polk BOOM, and Definitive Technologies. It has now announced that it has acquired D+M Group, the parent company of a different set of premium audio brands, including Denon, Marantz, and Boston Acoustics. Now, Sound United owns all the premium audio brands mentioned here.
The deal was made on February 28, 2017. Kevin Duffy, CEO of Sound United, will serve as CEO of the combined company going forward. D+M Group CEO Jim Caudill, who will continue to serve as an advisor to the company. The D+M Group is the largest supplier of audio/video products, and is a leader in the wireless multi-room audio segment.
