Vivo has launched the Y53, a new budget smartphone priced at ₹9,990 in India, according to a tweet by Mumbai-based smartphone retailer Mahesh Telecom.
Sporting a 5-inch 960×540 qHD display, the Vivo Y53 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 1.4GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. The smartphone features 16GB of build in storage space (expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card). The Vivo Y53 is powered by a 2500mAh battery, and runs Funtouch OS 3.0 (based on Android 6.0).

The smartphone is equipped with three card slots, two of which supports 4G networks and the third supports up to 256GB of external memory using a microSD card. The VoLTE enabled Vivo Y53 supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and USB 2.0, along with OTG and FM support.
The Vivo Y53 has an 8-megapixel rear camera with an F2.0 aperture and a 5-megapixel front camera with an F2.2 aperture. Other unique features include a screen flash function that automatically switches on in low-light conditions for brighter selfies, and an eye protection mode that filters out blue light to prevent eye strain.
The newly launched Vivo Y53 is expected to be available across offline stores in the country in the coming days.
