Vivo is all set to launch a new Y series smartphone in India. According to reports, Vivo has started sending out initial media invites for an event to be held on the 17th of March where the company may launch the Vivo Y66 smartphone. While the invite itself doesn’t mention the device being launched, reports suggest Vivo could be launching the Vivo Y66 in India.
First unveiled last December in China for Yuan 1498 (approximately ₹14,200), the Vivo Y66 sports a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Powered by a 3000mAh battery, the Vivo Y66 has a 1.4GHz oct-core Snapdragon 430 SoC with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space, expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. The smartphone runs Funtouch OS 3.0 based on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. The Vivo Y66 has a 13-megapixel rear camera with an F2.2 aperture lens, and a 5-megapixel front camera with an F2.2 aperture lens. In terms of connectivity, the dual SIM 4G VoLTE enabled smartphone offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, and GPS.
The new Vivo Y66 is likely to be launched in India for a similar price with Crown Gold and Rose Gold colour options. Stay tuned for more information!
