
Xiaomi launched the Redmi 4A in India a few days ago. The phone was introduced at a price tag of ₹5,999 in the country, and it went on sale for the first time on Amazon and Mi.com only yesterday. The company has now claimed to have sold over 2,50,000 units of the Redmi 4A in under four minutes of the handset’s first flash sale.

In addition to this, Amazon India also received more than five million hits per minute with a peak of 1500 orders per second. The website further reported to have got one million ‘notify me’ alerts from customers for the Redmi 4A. The director of Category of Management at Amazon India Noor Patel said, “Smartphones had been a top selling category on Amazon.in and the phenomenal sale today reinforces our focus on expanding the selection and giving our customers the best to choose from.”
Xiaomi’s Raghu Reddy the Online Sales Head, also said in a statement,“We are pleased with the record sales of more than 250,000 units of Redmi 4A on Amazon and Mi.com. The device has much to offer to customers, and it is the best in its price segment. Our Mi Fans are at the core of our business, and their response to the sale has been tremendous. This is our most affordable smartphone to date and delivers on our brand promise of innovation for everyone,”
To recap, the Redmi 4A sports a 5-inch IPS LCD, 2GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel rear facing camera. The phone packs a 16GB of internal storage and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top.
