Motorola Moto G5 with 5-inch Full HD display set to launch in India on April 4

Motorola India is sending out media invites for the launch of its new Motorola Moto G5 in India. According to the official invite, the launch event is set to take place on April 4. The company recently introduced the Moto G5 Plus starting at Rs 14,999 in India.

The Moto G5 is a slightly toned down version of the Moto G5 Plus. Motorola uses a 5-inch Full HD IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. By default, the Moto G5 runs the Android 7.0 Nougat based Pure UI.

A quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chip with Adreno 505 GPU will power the Moto G5. Just like the Moto G5 Plus, the Moto G5 will also come in two memory and storage flavours. One will pack 2GB of RAM with 16GB space, and other will have 3GB of RAM with 32GB storage space.

The Moto G5 will have a Home key which will also double up as a fingerprint scanner. At the back is a 13-megapixel camera with a LED flash and on the front is a 5-megapixel selfie camera.

While the Moto G5 supports 4G LTE, it packs only 2,800 mAh battery which might turn out to be a concern for many.

We expect Motorola Moto G5’s pricing to be sub-Rs 10,000 considering the generous pricing of the Moto G5 Plus. Stay tuned for more updates on the Moto G5’s pricing, launch day offers, and availability.
