Panasonic has launched the successor to the well-received GH4, the Lumix GH5 in India. The Lumix GH5 will be available at Panasonic stores across the country for ₹1,88,990 with a 12-60mm F2.8-4.0 kit lens, and in the body only configuration for ₹1,43,000.
Capable of recording 4K 60p/50p video, the Lumix GH5 also allows for 4:2:2 10-bit 4K video and features a 6K Photo mode that extracts approximately 18-megapixel still images from the video footage, and approximately 8-megapixel images from 4K 60p video footage. The GH5 lets you shoot Full HD slow motion video at up to 180fps, enabling 7.5x slow motion. The camera is capable of continuous shooting at 9fps with continuous autofocus, and even features a post focus function that lets you focus after you’ve taken the shot. The Gh5 making use of a focus stacking function that enables you to adjust the focus area after shooting by blending multiple images taken at different focus distances.
Under the hood, the Panasonic Lumix GH5 has a 20.3-megapixel micro four-thirds sensor without an optical low pass filter working with Panasonic’s new Venus Engine image processor. The camera features 5-axis in-body image stabilisation, and has an improved 3680K-dot OLED electronic viewfinder with a 0.76 magnification. The Lumix GH5 has a splash/dust/freezeproof design, and is equipped with dual SD card slots. Panasonic claims the Gh5’s shutter is durable for approximately 2,00,000 releases. Other features include Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.
