As you might know, Samsung announced the new Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones bringing a lot of oomph factor for the smartphone enthusiasts. While most are still talking about the features and the design, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are world’s first phones to feature Bluetooth 5.0 LE support.
The new Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ phones now come with Bluetooth 5.0 LE support and will benefit from it in three areas – speed, range, and audio. In comparison to the Bluetooth 4.2 standard, the new Bluetooth standard offers twice the theoretical speed of data transfer.
Not only that, the Bluetooth 5.0 now offers quadrupled range with about 800 feet to maintain a connection with the compatible devices. Needless to say that you will have to buy Bluetooth devices which can work well to make the best of this new standard.
The headphones industry is going bullish with the wireless audio. It will only go to the next level with Bluetooth 5.0 standard which will let your device stream audio to two wireless headsets simultaneously. That only means better and higher quality audio bandwidth.
Following the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, we will soon get to see laptops and other peripherals with Bluetooth 5.0 standard support. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will go on sale starting April 21 in the US.
