The official Gmail app has just got an update that brings a minor yet a heavily requested feature – animated GIFs support. Using Gboard keyboard option on your Android phone, you will be able to add those cheeky and funny GIFs to the emails.

Adding animated GIFs support in the keyboard and social media apps is the new fad. Google decided to add Gmail to that list. Of course, you’ll need to install and use Gboard to put the GIFs to any email or replying to one.

Searching and adding animated GIFs might take a while for it does consume more data than images. Also, the size of the email would get bumped.

Get the Gmail app update from the Google Play Store. Also, install the Gboard on your Android phone in case you don’t have it yet. Gboard works even with the older Android versions so you won’t be left out.
