Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ made a debut with a 12-megapixel “Dual Pixel” camera setup. Though Samsung did not take a nose dive in the dual camera setup at the rear, the company did test it out. A fresh batch of Samsung Galaxy S8 prototype images leaked by a Vietnamese website proves the same.
Last week, we reported about Samsung sourcing the image sensors from Samsung System LSI and Sony for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. Rumours had pointed towards Samsung’s strategy to use latest sensors for recording super slow motion videos.
The Galaxy S8+ (SM-G955F) prototype photo with dual camera setup proves that Samsung did ponder and test it as one of the options. However, the company decided to go with a single 12-megapixel sensor.
As of now, there is no word on when Samsung plans to introduce the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in India. We shall keep our eyes open if we hear anything about the official launch.
