Motorola introduced the new Moto Z series last year. The Lenovo-owned company is already working on the second generation Moto Z series phones. The phones are still under development, but we know what one of the phones will be called.
Evan Blass, a reputed source for mobile leaks, shared on Twitter that the Moto Z’s successor will be called Moto Z2. No brownie points for guessing that one.

Moto Z featured a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display and housed Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. Packing 4GB of RAM, the Moto Z boots Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and has a 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS and 4K recording capabilities. The only drawback was the 2,600mAh battery. Priced at Rs 39,999 at the launch, the Moto Z also brought int he Moto Mods accessories.
It is too early to say whether the Moto Z2 will bring a design change to be compatible with the Moto Mods or will have only the hardware iteration.
