Xiaomi Mijia panoramic camera launched in China for CNY1,699

Xiaomi has announced a new Mi 360-degree Panoramic camera, dubbed the Mijia Panoramic camera, capable of capturing videos and images in 360-degrees. Priced at CNY 1,699 (approximately ₹15,900) in China, the Mijia Panoramic camera is expected to be available for purchase from today at the Xiaomi Mall, Mi Mall, and Xiaomi’s official flagship store on Lynx, Jingling, and Suning.

The camera sports fish-eye lenses at the front and back, both with a field of view of 190-degrees and an aperture of F2.0. The device uses a Sony IMX 206 1/2.3-inch sensor that enables the camera to capture video in 3.5K resolution (3456 x 1728@30fps; 2304 x 1152@60fps; 2304 x 1152@30fps). The camera uses an Ambarella A12 image processor, and can shoot stills at a maximum resolution of 6912 x 3456 pixels. It also features 6-axis EIS (Electronic Image Stabilisation). The Mijia Panoramic camera has an IP67 waterproof and rustproof rating.

The camera has a 1600mAh battery, which the company claims is good for 75 minutes of panoramic video with Wi-Fi switched on, and up to 90 minutes of panoramic video with Wi-Fi switched off. The Mijia Panoramic camera supports the use of microSD card, and additional connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and Micro-USB 2.0.


The Mijia Panoramic camera has been launched only in China, and there is no information on whether the device will be sold in other countries.
