Samsung has already confirmed the launch of the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ to take place in India tomorrow, i.e. April 19. The e-commerce giant, Flipkart has now teased both these devices on its site, confirming that it will be an exclusive partner for the sale of these smartphones. Preorders for these devices are also expected to start from April 19. In a nutshell, these new Galaxy series’ smartphones focus on a bigger display, powerful processor and a bigger battery life.
Talking about its specifications, the Galaxy S8 sports a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display with Gorilla glass 5 protection on top. The variant that will be available in India is likely to run on Exynos 8895 SoC, instead of the Snapdragon 835 chipset that is available in certain other countries. The phone has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with an option for expanding memory via a microSD card as well. It boots Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.
The Galaxy S8 has a 12-megapixel dual pixel camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The high-end Galaxy S8+ comes with a 6.2-inch QHD+ curved Super AMOLED display and houses 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage. The smartphones come with a rear-facing fingerprint sensor, iris scanner and 4G VoLTE support.
