OnePlus’ new teaser reaffirms that its next smartphone is the OnePlus 5


OnePlus has already officially confirmed that its next flagship would be the OnePlus 5. The company recently revealed that it incorporated the number 5 on the phone inspired from the famous NBA player, Robert Horry who has a great fan-following among several OnePlus employees. Now, the company has put out a teaser on its official OnePlus Weibo handle with the tagline Hello5, reaffirming that the device will be the OnePlus 5.

Another tagline by the company that goes “Hey summer! Give me five!” also suggests that the device will be launched this summer, i.e in June or August, this year. The OnePlus 5 is believed to the successor to last year’s flagship devices, the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T, and features a 5.5-inch HD display. The smartphone is rumoured to be powered by Qualcomm’s high-end chipset, i.e. the Snapdragon 835 with 6GB of RAM.

Some also believe that the device also might be available in an 8GB of RAM variant with 256GB of internal storage. In terms of imaging, it might have a dual camera setup of 23-megapixels and a dual front camera. It will also come with a 3000mAh battery.

It is believed that the device might retail for a price tag of $500 (approximately ₹32,000) and will be a competitor to the newly launched Samsung Galaxy S8, Xiaomi Mi 6 and the LG G6. What are your expectations from this device? Do let us know in the comments section below.
