OnePlus 5 is no more a secret. OnePlus teased that its next flagship is coming this summer, mostly in June or July month. GSMArena was tipped with a screenshot of the OnePlus 5’s benchmark scores at Geekbench rockets the excitement to the next level. As per the leaked image, OnePlus 5 shows a potential to blow the Samsung Galaxy S8 out of the water.
OnePlus is skipping the numeral 4 as it is considered to be an inauspicious number in the South East Asia. The upcoming OnePlus 5 with model number A5000 appeared in a bunch of leaks and speculations earlier. However, its Geekbench score’s screenshot sheds some light on its potential. Surprisingly, the benchmark wasn’t submitted to the Geekbench’s data base for we couldn’t find it on the site.
For starters, the OnePlus 5 will arrive with Android 7.1.1 Nougat based OxygenOS version. The device in question was running a build May 9 (2017) build, so the scores are quite fresh. In the single core tests, the phone scored 1963 in the single-core tests and 6687 in the multi-core tests.
Do note that this might be a pre-production prototype unit running beta software. That means the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T might have to wait for the launch of OnePlus 5 to get the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update.
While the screenshot’s source is vouched to be real, the variation of scores on this Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip housed device won’t be massive. The phone houses 6GB of RAM and will feature a 5.5-inch Quad HD display. Considering the QHD display, we can only hope for a higher capacity battery along with the Dash Charging feature. Stay tuned to know more about the OnePlus 5.
