Huawei Nova 2 to launch on May 26

Having received certification from TENAA last month, it was certain that the Huawei Nova 2 would be launched in the coming few days. Confirming this hunch, Huawei sent out invites for the launch event today, as per which, the event is scheduled to take place on May 26. The company is rumoured to launch the Nova 2 Plus alongside the Nova 2.

Although the Nova 2 was spotted on the certification site, it didn’t mention any of its specifications. However, images of the smartphone in Rose Gold colour were leaked, also showing a 2.5D curved glass display, unibody metal design, dual rear cameras and a fingerprint sensor at the back. Furthermore, rumours have it that the Huawei Nova 2 might come with a 5.1-inch 1080p display. The smartphone is also rumoured to be powered by a Kirin 660 SoC with 4GB of RAM. It is expected to pack 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone is likely to have 12-megapixel dual rear cameras and an 8-megapixel front facing camera. Another probability is a 3000mAh battery.

The Nova 2 Plus, on the other hand, is likely to be the larger variant with a 5.5-inch display. While the other hardware specifications of this device are not known at the moment, what we do know however, is that the smartphone might come with a 3300mAh battery. We’ll need to wait until May 26 before we can confirm any of these specifications to be true. Stay tuned.
