Xiaomi launches the Mi Router 3C in India for ₹1,199, can be controlled with an app

Along with the Redmi 4, Xiaomi has also launched its first smart Wi-Fi router earlier today in India. At its launch event in New Delhi, the Chinese technology company launched the Mi Router 3C. Priced at just ₹1,199, the Mi Router 3C is quite affordable, and that’s what Xiaomi is known for. The company says that the Wi-Fi router has been optimised for ease of use, range, and speed. No wonder the router can be set up and maintained through the company’s Mi Wi-Fi app.

Xiaomi Mi Router 3C: Features & Specifications

As opposed to most Wi-Fi routers in its price range, the Mi Router 3C comes with a beautiful design. It is safe to say that it looks much better than most Wi-Fi routers available in its price range. It is a dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n router with a maximum theoretical transfer speeds of up to 300Mbps. It has four high-performance antennas, each with a dedicated PCB circuit to improve signal quality. It features a MediaTek processor, 64MB RAM, two LAN ports, and it can connect up to 64 devices (20 devices and 44 IoT products).

The most interesting bit about the Mi Router 3C is that it can be set up and controlled using the company’s Mi W-Fi app. The app offers real-time monitoring of Internet bandwidth. You can use the app to limit or completely block any of the connected devices. The app also offers parental controls, so you can restrict what type of content or websites children in the home can have access to. It can also send notifications to the administrator when children connect their devices to the router. Users can also prioritise bandwidth to certain devices using QoS and Wi-Fi Boost.

Xiaomi claims that its smart Wi-Fi router can penetrate thick walls and doors to send signals for up to 80 metres away from its position. Users can also use the app to pre-configure Guest Sharing so that they don’t have to reveal the master password with people they don’t want to.

Xiaomi Mi Router 3C: Availability & Price In India

The Mi Router 3C is priced at just ₹1,199 in India, and it will be available through Xiaomi’s Mi Home offline stores starting May 20. It will also be available for purchase through Mi.com online store from May 23. The company is also making its first smart Wi-Fi router for India through its partners Amazon.in and Flipkart at the same price, but from the 8th of June 2017.
